Martinova bouda, Benecko
Pension Martin´s chalet offers comfortable accommodation in Benecko, in one of the highest villages in the Czech Republic. Accommodation is provided in 11 rooms (28 beds + 6 extra beds), 5 of them has its own shower and toilet, others have only sink (shower and WC are shared in the corridor). In the pension there is a stylish restaurant with a fireplace (possibility of half board or full board). Beautiful nature attracts tourists and cyclists to Benecko – a cycling trail passes directly through the center of the village which will take you to interesting places of the Giant Mountains. Martin´s chalet and its surroundings offer many possibilities for active recreation in Giant Mountains throughout the year.
Guests can enjoy sitting in Formanka (also known as the Benecko tavern) and dining room with bar and plasma TV. In summer you can enjoy relaxing on the terrace with a fireplace. Martin´s chalet has a lot to offer its guests even during the winter period – in surroundings there are many opportunities of skiing and snowboarding in the Giant Mountains (Benecko Ski resort is located just 50 meters from the building, in the wider surroundings (25 km) you can also visit other ski areals in Giant Mountains - Aldrov, Vurmovka, Herlíkovice, Špindlerův Mlýn. The building is suitable for accommodation for families with children in Giant Mountains - for the smallest ones there is a playground with toys.
The zoo in Liberec is the oldest zoo in the former area of Czechoslovakia. It was founded in 1919 and presently it can be proud cca 170 animal species of the total number of nearly 1.000 specimen. Except for the wide exposition in particular specific pavilions (the pavilions of giraffes, elephants, beasts, monkeys or trops) we ensure tutorials for schools, and you can also find here the wide offer of ecological educational programms. In the lower part of the zoo you can get on a small train, the favourite department is also the contact zoo where the visitors can even pet or feed some animals.
